Boondocks K9 SAR - CERT Unit
"Community Emergency Responce Team"
The Federal Emergency Management Agency, a component of the Department of Homeland Security, has promoted the use of the Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) since 1994. These teams of volunteers are designed to help out when first responders are unable to respond to all the needs of the community.
CERT educates individuals about disaster preparedness, and offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training in basic response skills that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, which allows them to focus on more complex tasks.
